Mario Gomez Returning To Training
Forward player for Fiorentina Mario Gomez is expected to make a return to full training very soon, most probably this very week.
It will be his come back to the training after almost a month long injury that had laid him off. It was on 23 September during the closing stages of his side’s 1-0 win against Atlanta that the German international had injured his right thigh and has been on the sidelines since then. He had been expected to be at full fitness and form after just three weeks time.
As being reported that though he was not being able to play matches now, he shall soon be back in the team and make his appearance again. During Viola’s 1-1 draw with AC Milan, it has been reported by Radio Blu that Gomez was able to practice at the San Siro with his team mates. Though he is now available and is practicing now for the visit of Udinese, he shall most likely only be available from the match against Sampdoria that is due on Sunday. The news of Mario coming back in the squad for Sunday’s trip will be very welcoming for Viola coach, Vincenzo Montella. It is because Mario’s fellow striker Giuseppe Rossi has also been sidelined, after his surgery on another knee injury.
Mario is 29 years old and has joined Viola from Bayern Munich in 2013. He has since then suffered from a lot of injuries and has been severely hampered by it. However, he has only managed to get 12 Serie A appearances between last season and this. He has only made 19 appearances in all competitions. He has also had a very poor return in all the games that he has played so far, of just four goals in all.
