GOMEZ MUST FIGHT

The sporting director of Bayern Munich, Sammer, has said that the German football player, Mario Gomez has to fight hard for his place in the side in the upcoming season. He said that the team is full of talented players and there is a healthy competition between the players for the places in the side. There are many new players brought into the side this time around and the team is dedicated to win a trophy in the upcoming season.

Gomez performed brilliantly in the last season. He played in 52 matches in the last season and scored 41 goals. He displayed the same kind of form in the European championship and scored three goals before Bayern was defeated in the semi-final. Sammer said that Gomez has been an asset for the side and he has performed amazingly well in the last two seasons. He is a key member of the side. But, at the same time, he said that with so many great players in the squad, Gomez might not begin every match in the upcoming season.

As per Sammer, there is no doubt that Gomez is a high quality player and a match winner. In the previous seasons, Bayern didn’t have so many options. But, with the inclusion of some new players in the side such as Mario Mandzukic, Tom Starke, Claudio Pizarro and Xherdan Shaqiri, the team would have a lot of options in the next season. According to Sammer, there are certain situations, when a particular player is more suitable than the other. So, every player has a definite role to play in the team.

Meanwhile, Mario Gomez has said that it is always good to have healthy competition between the players in the side. It brings the best out of the players. Gomez said that whenever he played for Bayern, he tried to give his best. And, whenever, he will get a chance to play in the upcoming season, he would continue to do the same.
