GOMEZ RULED OUT
Mario Gomez suffered an injury during Fiorentina’s match against Cagliari in September of 2013 which left him out of action and unable to play for 5 months and the German forward completed his recovery some weeks ago allowing him to be featured for a few minutes during his club’s match against Inter Milan.
The former Bayern Munich player was even seen on the sidelines of Fiorentina when they went head to head with Udinese but did not play during that match.
The 28 years old forward arrived to Fiorentina on July with a price tag of €20 million and made an instant impact for the Italian team as he scored twice on his 2nd league match with his new club.
Now that Mario Gomez is back in action with his club he had a few things to say about his former club Bayern Munich as he said that everyone in the German club is replaceable.
“From the quality of the team and the club, Bayern are outstanding. At the moment they are the measure of all things. When a new coach and a new system comes in, forwards can be swapped. This is normal in Munich. Everyone is replaceable.” Gomez admitted.
Gomez played with Bayern Munich from 2009 to 2012 and he was a consistent performer for the German team in just about every season but he saw his first team appearances for the club limited when Mario Mandzukic arrived.
Things got even tougher for Mario Gomez when the news concerning the arrival of Robert Lewandowski landed to his ears. The Borussia Dortmund forward will be making his introduction to Bayern Munich in the summer and Gomez decided to join a place where his chances on playing with the main squad are much wider which ultimately finished off with him moving to Fiorentina.
